The Sonic Great Wall

The Chinese-American composer Huang Ruo, the first composer-in-residence at the Concertgebouw, creates a spacious, visual, acoustic and interactive performance, using the Great Wall of China as a musical metaphor for communication. The Sonic Great Wall forges a connection to the audience with the assistance of ‘mini-stages’ depicting the watchtowers on the Wall.
