Speedrun at Performing Bits Festival

Live music transformed into an interactive platform game

‘Speedrun’ is a piece composed for the interactive platform game by Alex Kordzaia (also known as Kordz). Through the game, a composition is created in real time: instead of a traditional written score, the game consists of fragments of notated music, with the player controlling the progression of the piece.

Music, theatre, and technology are increasingly converging. Developments like AI and gamification are making music and theatre experiences more unique and exciting, but they also raise questions about the future of the professions and the role of technology within it.

The piece ‘Speedrun’ playfully explores the use of technology in music production. Kordzaia and musicians from Het Muziek present this piece during the Performing Bits Festival, an immersive program about theater and technology.

Speedrun was created with the support of Innovation:Lab.
