Stairway to Music is an online anthology of Het Muziek’s work, presenting gems from our music vaults and brand new compositions. A musical and cinematic exploration, shot on unique locations in the Netherlands.

Stairway to Music is inspired by a story shared at the farewell gathering for the late conductor and pianist Reinbert de Leeuw, who passed away in 2020. When Reinbert played piano in his apartment, the residents of his building would quietly sit in the stairwell to listen. Unknowingly, the musician shared his sounds with the entire building and its inhabitants — an extraordinary intimacy in which distance only deepened the experience.
