A universe of unlimited possibilities and different worlds aligning. Here, the most important 20th century composers are placed alongside work by new makers, who are stepping forward to a brand-new future from this Space In Between.

The first edition of this new programme young composers Lise Morrison and Thanasis Deligiannis meet composer/conductor Oliver Knussen. ‘Olly’ Knussen, a composer with a rich oeuvre characterised by sophistication and detailing, was closely related to Asko|Schönberg until his passing in 2018. Bas Wiegers, het Muziekgebouw’s Zielsverwant (Soul Mate) this season, knew Knussen well and will connect his music to the young composers through this programme. Robert Zuidam will write a new work especially for this event.
