Het Muziek aims to release HUSH — the final work by the influential composer Kaija Saariaho — as an album.

About HUSH
Saariaho composed the trumpet concerto HUSH in 2023, the year she passed away. Having previously had the honor of performing the piece, Het Muziek is now set to be the first to record it. This ensures that her very last work finds a lasting place and can be passed on to future generations. Saariaho is renowned for her wondrous, dreamlike sonic worlds, in which acoustic music and electronics converge in a unique way. As a female composer, she carved out a truly distinctive space within contemporary music.

Producing an album entails significant costs. That is why we have launched this crowdfunding campaign. We need to raise €20,000 to cover the recording sessions — featuring students from the conservatory alongside musicians from Het Muziek — as well as the services of a sound engineer, editing, mastering, and the final release of the album on CD and via streaming platforms like Spotify.
