Opening Concert Minimal Music Festival

Two world premieres show the versatility of minimalism

Dead in Love is a mystical quest for divine love. Vukosavljević takes the audience on a journey through sound worlds where Indian tradition, early music and a string quintet converge. Kate Moore’s new work is a loud, wild scream in the wilderness and explores the boundaries of rhythm and sound.

Two world premieres are the focal point of this exceptional concert, a celebration of the strength and beauty of minimalist music. Kate Moore has written a concerto specifically for the virtuosity of Australian percussionist Claire Edwardes. Dead in Love by Serbian composer Ivan Vukosavljević, is a piece for thirteen musicians. Both composers offer a musical experience that stimulates both intellectually and spiritually.

The world premiere of Kate Moore is made possible with the support of the Keir Foundation and Ammodo.
