Since the appearance of his book We Are Our Brains, the neurobiologist and professor Dick Swaab has enjoyed renown, and not just in the scientific community. The book has brought the discussion about ‘free will’ as opposed to immutable chemical processes into the broad public arena. Swaab’s words are set in the context of the inspiring ‘rational’ and ‘systematic’ music of  Boulez.
