Educational Project in collaboration with Muziekgebouw
Can a cricket bark, a drum sing, and a tuba scream? In the OERkest, that’s the most normal thing in the world.
What would music sound like if instruments had never been invented? Together with the musicians of Het Muziek, students discover and create the OERkest, where no one blinks an eye at the wildest ideas. Children experiment with sounds and invent their own instruments, forming an orchestra like no other — one that turns everything upside down.
In addition to a preparatory workshop in the classroom, there are inspiring workshops on the concert day where the class creates and plays their own instruments. At the end of the morning, everyone gathers in the Main Hall for the final concert, where the children perform together with the musicians of ensemble Het Muziek.
