Mees Vervuurt is a composer and director, and together with Doortje van Duin and Roel Meijvis, he forms Studio Vacuüm. With them, Mees creates musical, site-sensitive performances. Using musicians, physical performers, and location, Studio Vacuüm creates poetic, dreamlike worlds in which music, imagery, movement, and space converge.

At Het Muziek Studio, Mees and Roel deepen their research into silence in an increasingly loud society. Based on the idea of ​​creating a city of sound that culminates in a deep, prolonged silence (not the absence of sound, but an intense experience of stillness), we will collaborate with percussionists, movers, and a wide variety of percussion instruments. Not to create a work, but to conduct pure research in the broadest sense: philosophical, musical, and physical.
